Yet another awesome day in Clintwood. The day started at 6:30 with singing (led by the youth) and prayer. After a quick breakfast we ponchoed up for it was raining. The teens, Mr. Scott, and Ms. Barbara went to a new site since staining the deck was not an option. There we met two new friends Butterball, the turkey, and Speedy the turtle. Kathleen, Jenni, and Mrs. Barbara worked on cleaning the deck while Ben and Natalie scrubbed the trailer. Then at 10:30 the rain came and we had to stop. But because of this we got to meet the owner and hear some great stories. He even made coffee. After about half an hour the rain let up a little bit and we continued our work and we learned that Ms. Barbara is a master power washer since she made the deck look brand new. Now a long time ago in a galaxy far far away (Clintwood) a member from a previous job site joined up with the teens to finish its mission, and thus Attack of the Hornets continues. We finished up the last bit of work in about an hour and arrived home at about 12:30 where we met up with the group who went to scrape paint and fix a floor. While everyone else was working hard, Mr. John, Mr. Gary, and Mr. Tony decided it would be nice to take a luxury mud bath. Somewhere along the line half a floor was put in. Mrs. Michelle, Mrs. Ginny, and Mrs. Millie were singing in the rain while taking a relaxing and well deserved shower (to bad they didn’t have shampoo) and scraping the paint away. Patience and teamwork were the key words for the deck team as they worked through the rain today. Deck rails, pickets, rail cap, and the last pieces of the deck floor were completed in and around the all to frequent down pours. Annelyn, Linda, and Rebecca cut dozens of pickets to precision, and the entire team worked together to install them in record time before the next shower. The team hero of today was Rebecca who worked to keep everyone save by making sure all electrical connections were properly protected and wrapped. After all we came here for a religious experience not a shocking one! The stairs are the last remaining task to be completed. Also, after a quick lunch Mr. Scott and Ms. Barbara went to the previous job site to pull out weeds. The path thanks to some mud wrestling now looks pristine. Also, the teen girls went to Food City with Mrs. Michelle and Mrs. Millie to help carry the food back to the house. From this we learned that Natalie has muscles of steel since she carried two bags of ice after for 2 consecutive days of scrubbing tall houses. Also, Lizzie, Mr. and Mrs. Fab say “Hi!

God Bless,
The Teens
