The last day in Clintwood started off much the same as the others. Prayer, breakfast, loading the cars etc... The Teen group (Mr. Scott, Ms. Barbara, and the teens) went back to the job site at the top of the mountain. There, we took the old fiberglass stairs from the front deck and inserted them at the back door (we met some unusual creatures like Millie the millipede and Betty the banana slug). We also met Butterball’s (the turkey) friend Sara Lee, the female turkey. Then we proceeded to make new stairs for the front porch and also finished pressure washing the deck. Now the deck team finished all their work and installed a new drain system to help with flooding as a bonus. Then they enjoyed a lunch magnanimously created by the family. Multiple groups converged on the floor job to finish the floor and prime the house. After a pizza dinner a coal miner came and discussed how his life was as a coal miner for 23 years and how meaningful his life is now as a social worker. Also, “Rocky” the rock is coming home with us. In total week two made a major impact. Also, a special blessing to the Vitug’s who celebrated their 23rd anniversary by coming here! We miss you and hope to see you tomorrow!
