State of CTK Survey Announcement

LAST CHANCE FOR STATE OF CTK INTERVIEWS !!!

The last chance to participate in the State of CTK Interactive Survey is after the Masses on the weekend of 29-30 March 2008. The interview teams will be available in the CTK Science Room after the Masses that weekend.

The State of CTK Town Hall Meeting will be 20 April - please mark your calendars and plan on attending this pivotal meeting for our parishes future!

This is a special announcement. Most announcements, even those of great importance, don’t personally affect everyone in the parish. However, like taxes, something we are all thinking about this time of year, this message has a direct bearing on each of you personally. This is certainly the most important announcement delivered at Christ the King in the last 20 years.

In the past months you have heard about the shortage of priests in our diocese. Without question, sometime between 2009 and 2011 Christ the King will not have a full time priest. Let me repeat that. Sometime between 2009 and 2011 Christ the King will not have a full time priest. That is the reality.

Hello again!

Last week you heard from me and a dozen or so of our fellow parishioners. To briefly review,

- We know that we are still learning about our parish transition.
- We know that all parishes in the diocese will soon face significant changes because of the shortage of priests.
- We know that this will affect Christ the King, too.
- We know we must tailor and improve each of our seven ministries to have a bright future
- We know that we are a strong parish community with Christ as our solid foundation, and with the pillars you see on this banner (gesture to CHALICE banner) as the support for all our endeavors.

That is what WE know.

Now it is YOUR turn to tell us what YOU know.

This weekend marks the start of the State of CTK Survey. We are calling it a survey but it is really a sensing session. We want to meet with YOU – yes, each one of YOU – over the next few weeks. If you belong to any of the following groups, expect to see us at one of your meetings in the next month:

PTO
Adult choir
Wednesday Women’s Bible Study
Sunday Bible Study
Sunday Women’s Bible Study
RCIA
Life teen
CCD
Senior Group – Primetimes
CTK Playgroup
Charismatic Prayer Group

Peace and Justice Committee
Legion of Mary

The survey times that have been scheduled for these groups are posted in the Commons. If you are in doubt, please attend any general session. We can’t afford to have anyone fall through the cracks.

If you do NOT identify with one of these groups, or if you know you will not make it to the group’s next meeting, it is especially important for us to talk with YOU. Today after mass, we will have three sets of facilitators available to lead discussions that will last no more than one hour. We have childcare available. Food, too!

Please look for this sign (show bright yellow “SURVEY” sign) in the school cafeteria immediately after mass. For those of you, who aren’t familiar with the school, look for the person holding an identical sign in the Commons.

If you can’t join us today, please make plans to stay next week or the following week.

Please read your bulletin. There is a lot of information in it.

We will be looking forward to YOUR participation.

Thank you.
